Date and time:

Monday, February 9th,

The general meeting will be held at 7:00pm – 9:00pm, and is open to the public. The board meeting will follow the general meeting after a short recess. All TU members are welcome to attend the board meeting.

This month’s presentation will be given by Jack Williams, Trout Unlimited National Senior Scientist. The presentation will be about steelheading.

We’ll be holding a special election during the general meeting. Nominations for President, Vice President, and Resource Chair will be open.

We will be talking about upcoming projects and fund raising opportunities as well.

Board meeting at 6:00pm, all TU members are welcome to attend.
General meeting 7:00pm – 9:00pm, public is welcome to attend.

This month’s presentation will be given by Jed Kaul, Aquatic Projects Manager/Fisheries Biologist with the Long Tom Watershed Council.

We wish to extend our profound thanks to our president, Lou Wentz for his help in getting The Redsides chapter back up and running this year. Lou has decided to resign due to personal reasons. We hope that he’ll be able to return to us in the near future. Good luck, Lou!

We’ll be holding a special election at the February general meeting. Nominations for President, Vice President, Resource Chair, and possibly Outings Chair (pending board approval) will be open.

It’s election day, and it’s election time for The Redsides as well. This month is our annual membership meeting where you will have an opportunity to nominate and vote for those who will lead the chapter for the near future. The elections will be held at the start of the general meeting at 7:00pm. The public is welcome to attend.

As always, the board meeting is at 6:00pm, and members are welcome.

Following the election process there will be a presentation by The Suislaw Watershed Council.

Greetings TU members,

In the beginning…

As most of you know, the chapter was in hiatus for about six months up until April of this year when an organizational meeting produced a new slate of officers – Jack Wheeler, Secretary; Todd Mullen, Treasurer; Geoff Shipley, Vice President; and Lou Wentz; President.

To give you some background, I moved to Oregon last fall from Pennsylvania where I was a TU member for about 20 years (Perkiomen Valley TU #332). Our local chapter was very robust and over time initiated many stream restoration projects that improved riparian buffers, mostly along dairy farms. Most would argue that the improvements in that small watershed were transformational. As a result of these efforts, (more…)
