Trout Unlimited Seeks Volunteers for Stream Surveys!

Trout Unlimited Seeks Volunteers for Stream Surveys!

Join trained volunteers as we go out to look for steelhead redds in the West Fork of the Smith River. Starting in February, volunteers will walk river sections on a regular basis to collect information that would otherwise be unknown.

Redds are extremely sensitive nesting areas and surveys allow for a better
understanding of steelhead populations for future management without
causing harm to the fish. All of the training will be provided. To learn
more please contact, Lisa at LBeranek@tu.org.

Trout Unlimited works to conserve, protect and restore coldwater fisheries
and their watersheds. Learn more at www.TU.org!

The Third Annual Smith River Basin Tree Plant is coming up fast. This is a great opportunity for our local Trout Unlimited chapter to work in conjunction with BLM, ODFW, USFS and PURS to restore stream-side habitat in the Smith River basin. This habitat is crucial for steelhead and salmon recovery. After this planting TU volunteers will have helped plant over 7500 trees in the Smith River basin.
