We’ll have complimentary appetizers and snacks available and Falling Sky has an awesome selection of entrees and drinks. It’s the perfect time to gather as we reflect on 2015 and look ahead to an exciting and inspiring 2016.

Monday, October 5th, at McMenamin’s North Bank
22 Club Rd. Eugene, Oregon.

The general meeting will start at 7:00PM and the public is welcome. The board meeting will follow directly after the general meeting and TU members are welcome to attend.

Summer is over and It’s time to ramp up the TU meetings again. And on that note we would like to invite everyone to our fall kick off. Also there are some new things in the works from the Redsides this year, including something near and dear to my heart. Our chapter is sponsoring two new Project Healing Waters Fly-fishing chapters. One down in Roseburg headed up by Jeff McEnroe (fish biologist for BLM) and our Eugene/Springfield chapter headed up Chris Matthews ( he is also our new education chair). We have some things to get done, some things to discuss and some exciting trips and volunteer opportunities to come. (more…)

Project Healing Waters Eugene/Springfield will be holding it’s very first meeting Tuesday, October 6th at the Moose Lodge in Springfield Oregon, 2011 Laura St.

It’ll be a meet and greet with a “keep it simple” theme with hotdogs, chips, tater salad, pop and of course coffee being served.

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. (more…)

ODFW Curtails Fishing Hours to Help Native Fish

In the midst of an exceptional drought, low stream flows and relatively high water temperatures, ODFW has curtailed fishing hours throughout the state to reduce the stress on trout, salmon, steelhead and sturgeon. Though no angler likes to lose out on potential fishing time, taking proactive measures to protect Oregon’s native fish now is smart conservation.

A few waterways will see complete closures for those native species, including the Willamette River below Willamette Falls and the lower Clackamas River up to the I-205 Bridge. (more…)

April 2 ALERT: There is a new tree down spanning the left channel 1/4 mile above Bellinger. I have notified the Sheriff, and am seeking permission to saw it out. Do not use the left channel.

The general meeting will be held at 7:00pm – 9:00pm, and is open to the public.
The board meeting will follow the general meeting after a short recess. All TU members are welcome to attend the board meeting.

This month’s presentation is “The Owyhee River” by Monica Mullen

Join us as Monica recounts years of fishing the Owyhee River including
landscapes, bugs, fish porn and other “cool stuff”.
There will also be a raffle held at the meeting for a prize worth at least $50.
One free raffle ticket to each person attending the meeting.
Additional tickets available for $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.

Additionally, there are now two board seats open, Treasurer, and Board Member At Large. Nominations will be taken for both seats at this general meeting and we will have a vote.
